Getting Started Is Easier Than You Think.

Taking the first step toward behavioral health care can feel daunting. At Crown & Compass, we have made our scheduling process as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Here is exactly what to expect from your first contact through your first appointment.

Step-by-Step Scheduling Process

Step 1

Choose How You Would Like to Connect

You have three options for scheduling your first appointment:

  • Online: Use our secure "contact us" form on this website at any time, to receive a call back from our professional staff. 
  • Phone: Call or text our office during business hours and speak directly with a member of our care team.
  • Email: Send a message to info@crownandcompassbhs.com and we will respond within one business day.
Step 2

Complete Your New Client Intake Forms

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a link to complete your new client intake paperwork online through our secure patient portal. We ask that you complete this before your first visit so we can make the most of your appointment time. Intake paperwork includes:

  • Demographic and contact information
  • Insurance and billing information
  • Medical and psychiatric history
  • Current symptoms and concerns
  • Current medications
  • Consent and release of information forms
Step 3

Verify Your Insurance or Payment Method

Our billing team will verify your insurance benefits prior to your first appointment and contact you if there are any questions. If you are self-pay or uninsured, please contact our office to discuss our private pay rate options.

Step 4

Attend Your First Appointment

Your initial appointment is a comprehensive evaluation. Your provider will review your history, discuss your concerns and goals, answer your questions, and begin developing a personalized care plan with you. Depending on your needs, this visit may be in-person at our Stafford office or via secure telehealth.

Step 5

Build Your Care Plan

After your first visit, your provider will discuss recommended next steps. This may include follow-up appointments for medication management, therapy sessions, enrollment in the OBOT program, or connection with case management services. Care is always a conversation. Nothing happens without your understanding and agreement.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

  • Photo ID
  • Names and contact information for other providers you see
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Your completed intake forms (if not submitted online)
  • List of current medications with dosages
  • A list of questions or concerns you want to discuss
  • Any prior psychiatric or medical records you have access to
  • A support person if you would like to bring one

Telehealth Options

Crown & Compass offers secure telehealth appointments for many of our services. Telehealth sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform that is accessible from any smartphone, tablet, or computer. Ask about telehealth availability when scheduling your appointment.

Insurance and Payment

We accept a range of insurance plans. Please contact our office or use the insurance verification form on this page to confirm whether your plan is in-network. We also offer private pay options for those without insurance or those who prefer to pay out of pocket.
